A Woman’s Rant

Some women have accepted, made excuses for, and limited themselves to men who are not deserving of their attention, affection, time, and point blank LOVE.

Every woman’s story is different, so we think. The stories are only different in details/specifics. Mainly because most of us when swapping stories have the same punch line and endings.

It does not make us weak and or complex as people. Maybe a tad more sensitive and forgiving then our counter parts but I guess that’s the point.  The point of not being equal to men but to be different. Possibly different, in order to attract, become paired, and be different in order to compliment.

As a woman, I know what it feels like to be disappointed, rejected, disrespected, and angry. I also know what it feels like to be touched, enjoyed, happy and loved. All are emotions that come out of being in relationships.

I wrote a poem one night (A woman scorned), just a random thought that came to my mind, and I shared it with a man. I shared it just to get feedback. The comment/feedback should have been expected because it was coming from a man. The comment was and I quote “this is not a poem-this is a rant”. I thought wow! Really a rant!! How so? So I decided to look up the word “rant”.  Rant: (v) to speak or declaim extravagantly or violently; talk in a wild or vehement way.

After reading the definition, I thought to myself- I agree. This is a rant! One I know. One I know that many other women know and or have felt or are feeling.

Enjoy, know your worth and your value! Stop settling for 2nd & 3rd best! You are a queen and should be honored, respected, and treated as such.

The Rant of a Woman: (A woman scorned) by Shawna K Clark

How could you?

Why did you?

I forgave you once before!

Did our family mean anything to you when…?

I knew I should have shown your ass the door!

Did I cross your mind at any time when you…?

I can’t believe this is my life!

I don’t even want to look at you!

And I thought you were Mr…

That’s what I get for thinking huh?

Silly me for believing you would not…

Hmm…that’s okay because…

Yeah that’s right…

Now you’re thinking about what I might…

Ha…serves you right…

Yes, serves you just right…

Sleep tight…

And don’t wait up for me tonight…
